Glen Petersen is a semiretired consultant and writer who has turned
his talents to preserving the art and glory of historical Native
American ceremonial clothing and accessories. Mr. Petersen has
mastered the technique of creating historically accurate,
miniaturized (approximately one-third scale) versions of Plains
Indian war shirts, dresses, cradles, and other ceremonial artifacts
that typify the craftsmanship of the 1800s.
Mr. Petersen’s intent is to offer a realistic rendering of these
historical items in a medium that can be enjoyed in one’s home as
opposed to visiting a museum. All of the work is done with real
hides, bead work, and other natural materials such as horse hair to
achieve a realistic, accurate, and three-dimensional effect.
