Dave Newman
Dave Newman is a self-taught artist originally from Southern California, Dave moved to Arizona in 1997 with his wife Donna and just recently moved to Placitas, New Mexico. He creates mixed media collage constructions using his original photographs, found objects and vintage magazine articles and advertisements. In making these ‘time capsules”, Dave focuses on historic locations, recycles objects and brings a sense of nostalgia to his work. Dave also does acrylic paintings of the Southwest and other themes in a pop art style . . . . Dave has been working with the Fender Custom Shop creating art guitars for the past seventeen years and his guitars have been featured in Fender catalogs, calendars and books. Books featuring Dave's art include: “Painters of Utah's Canyons & Deserts” by Donna Poulton “Painters of Grand Teton National Park” by Donna Poulton “The Dream Factory, The History of the Fender Custom Shop” by Tom Wheeler “Master Built, Fender Custom Shop” by Steve Pitkin

About the Artist: Dave Newman
Dave Newman is a self-taught artist
