Cynthia Young
I try to convey humanity in my work. I love the depth and versatility of oil, which is
particularly effective in revealing emotion and complexity in images of people.
I am inspired by so much around me and am encouraged and fascinated by our
connections to each other.
My husband and I most recently moved to Placitas from Kentucky, where we had a
lush green farm. Quite the difference here! But, without so much work to do outside,
we can pursue the hobbies we love.
Prior residences include Colorado, France, Great Britain, Ohio, California, Arizona and
Massachusetts. My past careers have included real estate and financial advisement,
and I received a BFA in Art History.
Retirement has allowed me time to paint. Time and practice is so necessary to become
a better artist. I am excited by new challenges in painting and incorporating other
media into my work
