About the Artist – Charlotte Lough

Charlotte Lough, after twenty-five years of practicing as a speech-language pathologist, has returned to a former passion of oil painting. She has a BA in Speech & Drama with a double minor in Art and English. She has a Masters in Speech Pathology from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

Charlotte and her husband moved to Placitas in 2005 after living in Albuquerque for 22 years. During the years she practiced as a speech-language pathologist Charlotte was so consumed with that profession she only dabbled with arts and crafts. Her goal is now to devote at least three days a week to her art.

The intriguing light and landscapes in New Mexico is a daily challenge to try and capture that essence and to continue to learn from that beauty.  Her current focus is landscape and still life in an impressionistic/representational style using oils.
